Stranded ("Stranded", "we", "us") is an AI hair‑analysis app. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Stranded you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
- Photos. The photos you take for a hair reading. They are sent to our AI provider to generate your reading. We do not use your photos to train AI models. On our servers photos are processed to produce your reading and are not retained afterward; a copy is kept on your device so you can view your scan and before/after, and is removed when you clear your data or delete your account.
- Account information. Your email address and password, handled by our authentication provider. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the basic profile (email) they share.
- Survey answers. The hair details you provide (e.g. hair type, length, concerns, goals) to personalize your reading.
- Approximate location (optional). Only if you enable weather tips. We use it to fetch your local forecast; we do not store your precise location long‑term.
- Subscription status. Whether you have an active subscription. Payments are processed by Apple or Stripe — we never receive your full card details.
- Basic usage data. Limited technical/usage information needed to operate and improve the app.
How we use your information
- To generate your hair reading and personalized routine, products, and tips.
- To provide weather‑smart daily guidance (if you enable location).
- To create and manage your account and subscription.
- To maintain, secure, and improve the app.
Service providers we share with
We do not sell your personal information. We share limited data with providers who help us run Stranded:
- Anthropic — AI analysis of your photos and survey to produce your reading.
- Supabase — account authentication and database.
- Apple and Stripe — subscription payments and billing.
- RevenueCat — subscription management on iOS.
- Open‑Meteo, BigDataCloud, ipwho.is — weather and approximate location (only if enabled).
- Netlify — hosting and delivery.
Data retention
Your readings, scans, and photos are stored on your device and remain until you remove them. Your account and subscription status are stored on our servers until you delete your account.
Your choices & rights
Delete everything. In the app, go to Profile → Delete account to permanently delete your account, cancel your subscription, and remove your data. You can also use Profile → Clear hair data to wipe your readings, scans, and photos on your device while keeping your account.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information. Contact us and we will help.
Children
Stranded is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where applicable). We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above when we do.
